In What Do I Give and What Do I Claim ?, I extend my inquiry into the essence of water bodies and their intricate relationships with human existence. The vast repository of life, narratives and secrets, the sea becomes the locus of this exploration. Questions often serve as the medium in my work, and the exploration becomes the art itself. What Do I Give, and What Do I Claim? embodies this practice, a piece that does not delineate a story but unfolds as an inquiry. This performance is a visual contemplation of the myriad ways human intervention shapes the rhythm of the natural order.
Where do the boundaries of the self dissolve into the vastness of the ocean? In What Do I Give and What Do I Claim? , the sea is not just a backdrop but a character, a living entity that we interact with. What narratives are we part of, unwittingly or with intent, as we navigate the intricate expanse of life that the sea holds?
What dialogue ensues in the liminal space where the stillness of the fish with sightless eyes meets the human gaze? What consciousness is awakened as we engage with the cycles of existence that unfold in the silent communion of the animate with the inanimate?
And in merging with the rhythmic waves, what essence of our being do we offer to the waters, and what do we reclaim in this ceaseless ebb and flow?
